ABOUT ELISABETH OPDAL
Elisabeth Opdal holds a bachelor degree in Film and TV from University of Surrey in London. Combined with studies in Social Anthropology at the University of Bergen she started off her carriere within the field of documentaries. Together with colleagues she started the company Mediamente, producing mainly for national broadcasters.
In 2014 she joined Qvisten Animation to produce their stop-motion film In the Forest of Huckybucky. The film was a big success at the cinemas in 2016/2017 both in Norway and the Nordic countries, winning the national Amanda award for best children’s film. It also gained international recognition at prestigious festivals such as Annecy, Shanghai and Giffoni. Following this success, she went on to her second stop motion film, co-producing the Berlinale festival competition title Louis and Luca - Mission to the Moon with Maipo Film, and later on Tordenfilm's Two Buddies and Badger - the Great Big Beast. She also executive produced the short film Astrid Lindgren’s Reven and Nissen. In 2019 she left Qvisten Animation and a few months later, she established the production company Imaginær Film with producer colleague Eirik Smidesang Slåen.
